The services provided by The Quest give clients the opportunity to choose among several modalities to benefit them in their journey. BJ and Barbara are able to evaluate and communicate what services best suit your needs, so you can reach your goals. Clients may elect to utilize only mental health services, only massage therapy, or a combination of the two services.

Massage therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body for therapeutic purposes, using a system of strokes that include gliding, kneading, friction, pressure, tapping, and vibratum. Nearly all bodywork practices are united in their common goals of relaxation, pain relief, improved physical functioning, heightened vitality, and well-being, as well as increased awareness of the body.

Swedish massage has many therapeutic benefits. It encourages wellbeing and optimum functioning by promoting relaxation, improving circulation, and mobility of joints. Swedish massage encourages relaxation through the body’s release of endorphins and enkephalins, which induces relaxation and reduces pain. Massage also improves blood and lymph circulation, thus helping the body to remove toxins efficiently, strengthening the immune system, and promotes the restorative process of healing.

Neuromuscular and craniosacral therapies are beneficial in treating a variety of muscular issues. Neuromuscular techniques are utilized to sooth areas of injury or accident, while craniosacral techniques are utilized to reduce headaches, back pain, and neck pain.

Reflexology is a type of healing work that uses manipulation of the feet in order to ease pain, improve circulation, and increase relaxation in the body. Reflexology is based upon the theory that there are corresponding areas on the hands, feet, and ears to all other areas of the body called reflex zones. By manipulating the associated zone, changes can be effected in the corresponding body part. This technique uses acupressure to relieve tension and improve circulation throughout the body often resulting in profound relaxation.

Energy work or energy medicine is the art and science of fostering physical, psychological, and spiritual health and vitality. It arises out of centuries of wisdom from different cultures around the world. The body is a latticework of energies. These invisible energies shape the way you feel, think, and live.
